Butterfly knot
The butterfly knot is a classic climbers knot used to create a single non-slip loop in the middle of the rope to attach to carabiners.
The knot has the added advantage in that it will take a load in any direction and it can be useful in rescue work to give each person a secure hand hold on the rope.
