Bowline

A common rope climbers knot is the Bowline. Considered to be one of the oldest and most useful knots it has a variety of uses.

The bowline – when tied correctly – will not slip regardless of the load placed on it. It is a common knot for climbers that creates a non-slip loop in the end of a rope.

When applying tension to the bowline knot it will slip a couple of inches as it locks into place.
