Indoor wall climbing
A new branch of rock climbing was spawned from the training facilities for the outdoor climber. Rock gyms were originally training grounds for the outdoor climber, but their popularity has opened up climbing to the masses.
Indoor wall climbing facilities are typically graded climbing routes with different coloured foot and handholds being assigned to climbers of varying skill levels.
Indoor rock climbing is an excellent way to “try before you buy” with no equipment and no experience required for your first attempt. Most centres offer beginner programs where your qualified instructor should ensure the chances of injury are reduced via a proper warm up and stretching program.
