Hypothermia

Hypothermia is a medical condition that is used when the body temperature drops to a dangerously low level.

This cooling of the body’s core temperature over time will slow all the bodies organs until they stop and essentially freeze. Hypothermia is a gradual cooling of the body’s temperature.

There are recorded cases where rapid cooling of the body (e.g. plunging through ice) has cause a rapid shut down of organs; almost like a ‘shock hibernation’. In these instances, the quick recovery of the person and subsequent medical aid has saved the person.
