Cornice

Cornice is a naturally occuring phenomenon. Cornices are an overhanging 'lip' of ice that are formed by wind on the crest of a ridge.

A cornice is to be treated with respect as over time the weight of the cornice can build leading it to snap off. Quite often a falling cornice can be the start of an avalanche.
