Cerebal Oedema

Cerebal Oedema is a medical condition that can prove fatal for inexperienced climbers at high altitudes. Cerebal Oedema is essentially a retention of fluid in the brain and can lead to impaired vision and irrational decision making.

Cerebal Oedema is a result of lack of oxygen to the brain, but it can be generally avoided by gradual acclimatisation.
